Commissioner FAQ

What does the commissioner do in a fantasy cricket league?

The commissioner is the league administrator — the person who sets up the league, configures the rules, runs the draft, processes waivers, approves trades, and seeds the playoffs. On PitchRival, the commissioner has a dedicated tools panel accessible from the standings page. Most decisions are one-click and take effect immediately.

Can I customise the scoring rules for my league?

Yes. Before the draft you can adjust every scoring value: points per run, wicket, catch, economy bonus thresholds, strike rate bonuses, Man of the Match bonus, captain and vice-captain multipliers, and more. Once the league is active the scoring rules lock in to prevent mid-season changes.

How do I run waivers as commissioner?

Waiver claims are submitted by managers and processed by the commissioner. On PitchRival you can run waivers manually at any time with one click, or let the automated cron job process them on schedule. Waiver order is configurable: standard priority, FAAB budget bidding, or reverse-standings (worst team gets first claim each week).

Can the commissioner approve or veto trades?

Yes. By default, accepted trades go into a review queue and the commissioner approves or vetoes before they take effect. You can also configure the league to auto-approve trades (no commissioner review needed). Trades execute at the end of the current gameweek.

How do I seed the playoffs?

After the regular season ends, one click runs the playoff seeding on PitchRival. The top teams by win record (tiebroken by total points) are automatically matched up — semis in week 7, championship in week 8. The commissioner can also manually adjust seedings if needed.

Can I add or remove players from a team as commissioner?

Yes. PitchRival includes a commissioner assign/remove tool for total-points leagues, letting you directly add or drop players from any roster. In H2H leagues, roster moves go through the standard waiver and trade flow — but the commissioner can bypass limits and process claims manually.

How many teams can my league have?

PitchRival supports between 2 and 16 teams. Most leagues run 8–12 managers. The schedule generator automatically builds a balanced round-robin fixture list based on your team count and available regular-season gameweeks.
